Each of the four gospels – Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John – proclaim Jesus as the long-awaited Messiah of God. Matthew’s gospel in particular, writing to a primarily Jewish audience, uses over 120 Old Testament references from 25 different books to emphasize Jesus is THE King.
