Who are the Tamfus and what is EBB?
Dieudonne and Dominique Tamfu, along with their two children Jadon and Gina, moved from the US to help found Eglise Baptiste Bethleem (EBB) church in 2020, which was when we at GCC began supporting them. This thriving congregation in the heart of Cameroon's capital city of Yaounde aims to be a wellspring of worship, biblical eldership, and regional church-planting. EBB operates an accredited Masters of Divinity program on-site and Training Leaders International has used the church as its base for regional pastor training and encouragement. How much do they need?
The best estimate for the project is between 1.3-1.5 million dollars (not including furnishings, lights, etc.). EMI (Engineering Ministries International) who helped launch this project said a similar project would cost about 16 million in the US. Pray that God. The Tamfus have raised approximately 1/3 of the funds needed, but are legally required to begin construction this next year.
What is our church's goal to raise?
We at Geist Community Church hope to raise $26,000 dollars by the end of February 2026 to give to this project. Though this amount is small in comparison to what is needed, with the help of many other congregations across the country, we believe we will see this new building come to fruition by God's grace and for His glory among all peoples!
What will the building contain?
The new building will contain a new sanctuary/conference center with room for 420+ to accomodate the burgeoning number of new believers leaving behind the false prosperity gospel. It will also have 4 well-equipped classrooms, a library, an office space, a printing and book-making room, and a recording studio.
How do I give?
You can give one of two ways. To give online click the button below and select to give to the "Tamfu Building Fund" from the dropdown. To give in person, you can write a check to the church and put "Tamfu Building Fund" in the memo before dropping it in the offering box by the front door.
